Corsairs of the Maritime Republic
Secure French maritime routes, protect the commercial interests of the Maritime Republic, and maintain oceanic dominance by all necessary means.
Faced with the rise of organized piracy and attempts to sabotage trade routes by rival powers, France created the Blue Grand Company. Inspired by historical corsair companies, it modernizes the concept with digital letters of marque: tamper-proof blockchain authorizations allowing independent captains to act on behalf of the Republic.
Unlike the rigid and bureaucratic National Navy, the BGC prioritizes operational autonomy. Its captains are maritime security entrepreneurs: they receive missions but retain total freedom in their execution. In exchange, they receive substantial bonuses and a share of seizures made.
